FIEP Europe Thulin Awards 2013 – 2014 - Call for nominations

The Award is open to individuals involved in teaching, training, innovative practice(s), policy framing, curriculum development, organisation/administration etc. at national/European/international level. It will celebrate achievement, good and innovatory practice in Physical Education. The evidence for the award may be selected from any of the following categories:
- High Quality Physical Education – the whole package
- Innovative Teaching and Learning in Physical Education (including e.g. curriculum development, negotiated teacher/pupil learning, assessment processes, cross-curricular issues and whole school links etc.)
- High research and science results
- Inclusion and Equality
- Integration
- Beyond the Curriculum
- Community Links
- Raising Awareness of physical education’s contribution(s) to healthy well-being/active lifestyles
- Improving life chances of ‘at risk’ students through Physical Education and Sport
- Physical Education in a Technological World (e.g. use of ICT)
- Continuing Professional Development
- Leadership or Management
- International policy and practice/international links
The Award is open to individuals engaged or recently engaged in PE/School Sport research- related activity at varying institutional levels (primary, basic, secondary schools, further or higher education levels) to include curricular or extra-curricular activity or policy etc. practice. It will celebrate achievement, good and innovatory research practice in Physical Education. The evidence for the award may be selected from any of the following categories:
- High Quality Physical Education – the whole package
- Innovative Teaching and Learning in Physical Education (including e.g. curriculum development, negotiated teacher/pupil learning, assessment processes, cross-curricular issues and whole school links etc.)

Nominations for one or both categories send to FIEP Europe General Secretary Dario Novak (dnovak@kif.hr) and copy to FIEP Europe President (antala@fsport.uniba.sk ). Use the formulary in attachment.

Evaluation Committee
The Evaluation Committee comprises: Presidents of European International Sections (6), Regional Vice-presidents (4) and Executive (2), i.e. in total 12 persons. Evaluation committee will choose 1 or maximum 2 laureates in each category for awarding in 2013 and 1 or maximum 2 laureates for awarding in 2014. Evaluation committee will evaluate candidates by unique guidelines on judging the level and quality of contributions made by respective candidates.

Deadline for evaluation and decision by Evaluation committee: 15th of April 2013

Winners Awarding: during 8th FIEP European Congress (Bratislava, Slovakia, 29.8.–1.9.2013) and 9th FIEP European Congress (Sofia, Bulgaria, 9.11.–11.11.2014)
